Bookings are modified, which commonly happens nowadays. However, when a modification occurs, what happens to the CVC information? It would be helpful to understand the workflow between the two systems when a booking is modified.
Overview
When a Booking.com's booking is modified, it typically involves changes to dates, guest details, room types, pricing or CVC information. When the guest updates the CVC information on Booking.com's end, Hotel Link may automatically update the CVC to the original booking.
When does Hotel Link automatically update the CVC?
In all scenarios, Hotel Link will always automatically update the CVC to the original booking when a guest modifies their reservation. This process ensures that payments can be reauthorized or adjusted without requiring manual intervention. This means that the CVC will always be up-to-date.
How to know if the booking includes CVC or not?
To determine whether a booking includes CVC information, there are 2 cases:
-
Using Hotel Link Pay: When there is no CVC, a warning will be displayed on the card charge screen as shown below:
-
Not using Hotel Link Pay: they will know if the card has a CVC or not in the view card details section.
If you still face any problems related to the CVC information, please reach out to your local support or Hotel Link support team (support@hotellinksolutions.com) for further assistance.
