Understanding past check-in date bookings and how our system handles them

Learn what past check-in date bookings mean, why OTAs allow them, and how the Hotel Link system manages these bookings

What are past check-in date bookings?

Past check-in date bookings are reservations where the check-in date has already passed at the time of booking. Many OTAs allow this type of booking to give hotels more flexibility and increase their chances of earning additional revenue. By accepting these bookings, hotels can capture last-minute guests, extend stays, or fill rooms that might otherwise remain unsold.

How Hotel Link handles past check-in date bookings

Hotel Link does not process allotments for past check-in dates. Adjusting this rule would have significant impacts on many parties already connected to Hotel Link, including OTAs and PMS partners.

Because of this, Hotel Link will not deduct allotments or send allotment updates to OTAs for bookings with past check-in dates. This ensures system stability and avoids potential conflicts across connected platforms.

In case you don't want to receive past check-in date bookings from OTAs, you need to contact the local market manager for better assistance.
