Learn how to create custom booking questions to gather information from your guests during the booking process.
To add check-out questions, follow these steps:
- Go to 'Booking Engine' in the Extranet menu.
- Click on 'Setup' and then select 'Check-out Questions'.
- Click on 'Add Check-out Question'.
Check-out questions settings
When setting up check-out questions, you can choose from four types of questions:
- Yes or No: Guests can select only one option using radio buttons.
- Text Area: Guests can provide an answer in a single text field.
- Text Field: Guests can provide a more elaborate answer in a larger text field.
- Multiple Choice: Guests can select multiple options using check boxes.
You can also set the field type as optional or mandatory, which determines whether the guest must provide an answer to proceed with the booking process.
In addition, you can choose to apply the question to specific room types and rate plans.
Additional options
Collect Guest Phone Number: If you select 'Yes', the 'Contact phone' field will be mandatory during the online booking process. If you select 'No', guests can complete their bookings without providing a phone number.
Include Detailed Address Questions: These questions ask for the guest's address, city, state, and postal code. If you don't need this information for booking management purposes, we recommend deactivating this option. Doing so will simplify the booking process and may increase your conversion rates. In this case, only the fields for Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, and Country will be required to complete the booking.
Edit and delete Check-out questions
Once you've created your booking questions, they will appear in the 'Extra Question' box. To edit or delete a specific question, use the corresponding icons. You can also change the order of the questions by clicking and dragging the kebab icon next to the question.
